FEBRUARY 24th 2010
Record crowd signals end to brilliant carnival.
NSW stayer Zavite stole the show to win an action-packed 2009 AAMI Launceston Cup.
It was a popular win in front of a massive crowd of just under 25,000 that poured into the picturesque TOTE Racing Centre at Mowbray.
The Anthony Cummings-trained gelding powered home to win convincingly and he went on to frank the Launceston Cup by winning the Adelaide Cup 12 days later.
The AAMI Launceston Cup meeting brought to an end a brilliant carnival and augers well for an even better 2010 AAMI Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival.
